More about Grande Reverso 976 Silver Dial SS
This is a stainless-steel Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso 976 Q373842. It has a leather strap, a matching stainless-steel double deployment clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 29.9 mm by 41.6 mm solid five-body case, striated bezels, and integral straight conical lugs are brushed/polished. The dial is two tone silver with rectangular guilloche centers on the time dial and subsidiary dial. It has black painted black Arabic numeral hour markers around the plain reserve, blued sword hands, and a black inner track for the minute divisions. There is a recessed subsidiary constant running small seconds dial at 6 o'clock with black Arabic numerals, markers, and a blued steel indicator hand. The reverse side has a sapphire crystal display case back for examining the movement. It's water resistant to 30 meters, it has a 48-hour power reserve, and the 10.2mm thick case, dials, and movement are all signed. This Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso 976 Q373842 has a mechanical manual winding Jaeger LeCoultre calibre 976 (based on the caliber 975) brass movement that's rhodium-plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment. It's constructed with 19 jewels, blued screws, a straight-line lever escapement, a variable inertia monometallic balance, a shock absorber mechanism, and a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso 976 Q373842 was introduced in the 2000's. French designers Cesar de Trey and Renee-Alfred Chauvot created the innovative Reverso in 1931. The idea was inspired by the desire of polo players to have a wristwatch that could protect the crystal and resist the abuse of the extreme sport. This distinctive art deco reversible design has become a signature icon for the company, and one of the most unique watches in the world.
