More about Master Tourbillon 18K RG

This is an 18K rose gold Jaeger LeCoultre Master Tourbillon "Regulateur a Tourbillon", Q1652420. It has a leather strap with a matching 18K rose gold deployant buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The solid 41.5mm diameter case, angled flat bezel, and downturned lugs are polished, and the sapphire display case back is secured with 4 screws. There is an open aperture for viewing the tourbillon at the 6 o'clock position, an outer track for the minutes, and Arabic numerals for the date around the outermost track. A guilloche silver "sky/ocean" subsidiary dial for second time zone is at 12 o'clock. The dial is silver with applied rose gold stick/dart index hour markers, and Arabic numerals at 3 and 9 o'clock. It has luminescent rose gold alpha hands and a center date indicator hand with a red balance tip, and a 3-tip seconds hand fixed to the top pivot of the tourbillon carriage. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 978 movement is rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 33 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a one-minute titanium tourbillon carriage. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, a lateral lever escapement, a blued steel Breguet balance spring, and a 22K gold rotor. In 1992 the first Master Control watches debuted, passing a 1000-hour series of tests that became the benchmark examination for all JLC timepieces.
