Chris's Grail

Where you’re from:
North Shore, Massachusetts

The first watch that moved you:
Omega Speedmaster

Why:
For the love of astronomy and the NASA moon missions. Although the runner up was definitely my first watch, which was a Timex Ironman (as an eight-year-old, the Indiglo was mind-blowing!). My real leap down the rabbit hole of horology occurred a few years later when I was in flight school and would pour over every article I could find while taking breaks from long hours of studying. The watch I wore throughout training (culminating in a Commercial Multi-Engine Instrument rating) remains a memento of dedication to the craft.

Day-to-day:
I’m a watch specialist, which means I consult with and assist our wonderful clients in their collecting journeys.

Grail:
AP Royal Oak 26574Ti "Americas" Perpetual Calendar for the detail of the moon and stars, the grey/blue colorway, and the titanium case and bracelet wear so well; you can hardly tell it's on your wrist.

The world should know:
I joined the EWC after 14 years in luxury real estate, where providing the highest-quality client experience is paramount. Few things are more professionally rewarding and this experience segued beautifully into the world of watches. The decision to move to the other side of the showcase, where I’ve been able to capitalize on the blending between my passion for watches and client-facing business acumen, felt completely natural.

Bonus:
Nowadays, I wear a watch 24/7, and gravitate towards divers for their clean aesthetic, ability to track elapsed time via the bezel, and water resistance. They’re also kid-proof. My wife, three boys, and I enjoy spending time locally with family and friends and taking weekend trips to points north and Cape Cod.
