8 Best Green Dial Gold Watches at European Watch Company
Buyers GuidesPublished by: EWC Team
View all posts by EWC TeamWe have seen green watches gain popularity in recent years. And while there are a ton of green dial watches in steel cases, there are actually a bunch of options in gold as well. And why would you want a gold with with green dial? Well, besides the obvious answer that the combination just looks good, a green dial on a gold watch just adds a little bit of fun. Because of this, we decided to go through 8 of our favorite gold watches with beautiful green dials
Rolex Daytona Ref. 116508 “John Mayer”
Price: $70,000-$75,000, Case Size: 40mm, Thickness: 12mm, Lug-to-Lug: 46.5mm, Lug Width: 20mm, Water Resistance: 100m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Yellow Gold
When you think of gold watches with green dials, the first watch that comes to mind for most is the Rolex Daytona Ref. 116508, or the John Mayer as its colloquially called. This watch rose to popularity after Mayer opined that he thought it was underrated (and he owned one) during a Hodinkee episode of “Talking Watches”. Ever since then it has been incredibly hard to get. And after being discontinued in 2023, the only place you can pick one up is on the secondary market.
Rolex Day-Date Olive Green Ref. 228239
Price: $38,000-$42,000, Case Size: 40mm, Thickness: 12.2mm, Lug-to-Lug: 47.3mm, Lug Width: 21mm, Water Resistance: 100m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: White Gold
The Rolex Day-Date is quintessentially a gold watch. Indeed, it isn’t even offered in steel. You can only get one in gold or platinum. And perhaps because of this, many think of the Day-Date as Rolex’s flashiest offering. But if you are looking for an understated Day-Date that you can wear any day, the Ref. 228239 with olive green dial is a great choice. The white gold case can pass for stainless steel for those who want that stealth wealth look. But to be sure, those who know Rolex’s catalog will know the watch is not stainless steel. A true “if you know, you know” watch.
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Moonshine Gold Ref. 310.60.42.50.10.001
Price: $25,000-$30,000, Case Size: 42mm, Thickness: 13.2mm, Lug-to-Lug: 47.5mm, Lug Width: 20mm, Water Resistance: 50m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Moonshine Gold
I’ll admit, the Omega Speedmaster Ref. 310.60.42.50.10.001 has a lot of similarities to the John Mayer Daytona. But for those looking for the look without the scarcity of the Daytona (or if you just prefer the Speedmast to the Daytona) it is a great option. The sunray green dial is matched by the green bezel. And the moonshine gold case and bracelet sits somewhere between yellow gold and rose gold, giving the watch a very warm tone.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph Ref. 26240OR
Price: $70,000-$75,000, Case Size: 41mm, Thickness: 12.4mm, Lug-to-Lug: 51.5mm, Lug Width: 26mm, Water Resistance: 50m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Rose Gold
The combination of rose gold case and green dial just goes so well together. And that is definitely the case with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph Ref. 26240OR. This chronograph features a stunning “khaki green” that is different than your standard sunray green affair. So if you are looking for that iconic integrated bracelet sport watch in gold, this Royal Oak is worth consideration.
Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref. 5168G-010
Price: $83,000-$87,000, Case Size: 42.2mm, Thickness: 8.25mm, Lug-to-Lug: N/A, Lug Width: 22mm, Water Resistance: 120m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: White Gold
If you are looking for a properly sporty white gold watch, look at the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref. 5168G-010. Nicknamed the “Grenade” because of both the dial and rubber strap pattern and the green color of the dial and strap, this piece is probably Patek’s sportiest watch. While most of Patek’s catalog remains more traditional, if you are looking for something sporty that still has aspect of luxury, the Aquanaut Ref. 5168G-010 is a great choice.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Ref. 4520V/210R-B967
Price: $65,000-$70,000, Case Size: 41mm, Thickness: 10.69mm, Lug-to-Lug: N/A, Lug Width: N/A, Water Resistance: 150m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Rose Gold
While the Vacheron Constantin Overseas often gets discussed alongside icons like the Patek Philippe Nautilus and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, it was actually released two decades later (in 1996). That makes the rise of the model even more impressive. And over the years, Vacheron has continued to expand the lineup, producing pieces with complications, as well as new variations of their more traditional models. One of the new Overseas we love was released at just this past Watches & Wonders. The simple 3 handed watch features a rose gold case with sunray green dial. It looks so good that we wonder what took VC so long to produce it.
Chopard Alpine Eagle Ref. 295363-5007
Price: $40,000-$45,000, Case Size: 41mm, Thickness: 9.75mm, Lug-to-Lug: N/A, Lug Width: N/A, Water Resistance: 100m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Rose Gold
The Alpine Eagle is a relative newcomer to the integrated bracelet sport watch category, having been first released in 2019. But, the model’s history goes much deeper. The Alpine Eagle was actually based on the Chopard’s St. Moritz, produced in the 1990s. But obviously, the Alpine Eagle is much more modern and elevated than the St. Moritz. And the Ref. 295363-5007 is a testament to this. The rose gold case contrasts beautifully with the dark green dial. And let’s talk about that dial for a second. The dial pattern is meant to look like the iris of an eagle (hence the name). Whether it does or not, I’m not sure. But it sure makes for one of the most interesting (and stunning) dial patterns on the market.
Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar Ref. 1-90-02-23-35-30
Price: $14,000-$18,000, Case Size: 40mm, Thickness: 12.7mm, Lug-to-Lug: 47.2mm, Lug Width: 20mm, Water Resistance: 50m, Crystal: Sapphire, Movement: Automatic Winding, Material: Rose Gold
I would say Glashutte Original is one of the more underrated watch brands out there. But if you know the brand, you know that they produce high quality timepieces, often with complications, for competitive prices. That is definitely the case with the PanoMaticLunar. The watch features two offset subdials, one with the hours and minutes, the other with the seconds. And to the right of the dial is the moonphase and big date. This makes for a visually interesting watch that doesn’t appear cluttered. And the sunray green dial just elevates the watch further.
